My trigger/ motivation for food blogging

“She is a big foodie but has no motivation to cook!” – Friends

“Though she can’t cook but she would know if there is any missing ingredient!” – Mom

“Making dal chawal is very easy, you don’t have to order if the maid is not coming.” – Dad

“I didn’t study so much to cook! Period.” – Me

Yes guys, this was me a super foodie with a sense of all the flavours but no need or motivation to cook! COVID-19 crisis changed me similar to a lot of other people in the world. With no maid, and fear of ordering, we (me and my husband) had no option but to cook. And voila, I discovered my hidden talent or probably the inherent foodie in me awoke to its full scale.

From problem to opportunity

I figured if I had to cook, then why not experiment and make it fun. I converted the problem into an opportunity. I focus on easy, quick, and healthy recipes but I don’t make boring dal chawal! Though easy, my food looks super fancy! I even try to make the recipes fun with limited instructions and my own twists & innovations. I am answering below some questions that I get asked everyday on choosing this food blogging journey.

Q.1. Why easy and quick recipes?

Both of us are working and have a busy schedule. Hence, I started my exploration of easy and quick recipes. My recipes in a mug and one-pot recipes became super popular among bachelors and working people who were fed up of washing the pile of dirty dishes.

Q.2. Why healthy recipes?

With limited opportunity for physical movement and no gyms, we chose to at least try to eat healthy to maintain the balance. Even my parents and relatives started implementing a few of the easy healthy tricks in their daily lives such as mixing quinoa with rice. I even cracked healthy desserts (no sugar and whole-wheat).

Q.3. Why food blogging?

  • Need/lack of content: When I searched for such recipes, there were very limited options
  • Demand: A lot of my peers were facing similar problems

There was a gap

Hence, I decided why not help others around me with my own easy hacks and experiments. I started by uploading a few of my creations on Instagram. The response I got was very motivating. I started getting a lot of DMs/comments, which proved my point.

Anyone can cook. Period.

Tada! If I can cook, then trust me that anyone can cook. You just need to understand that cooking is all about fun and experimenting. Don’t be afraid to mess things up. Don’t over follow the steps.

My whole USP is that my recipes are fun with limited instructions. They are more like a guide or motivational trigger for people like me to understand that cooking can be super easy and fun!

P.S. I used to always post about food even before lockdown. I love discovering food around the world, cafes, etc. Do checkout my food and travel blog ( and my Instagram @foodinza.
